Why a coach builds software

I didn't set out to build software. I was supervising in a volunteer supervision network and watching the people who ran it lose whole afternoons to spreadsheets, email threads and calendar invites. The first things I built were a platform for that network, and my own practice's website.

Coaching and supervision train you to notice what's actually happening, not just what people say is happening. It turns out that's most of the work of building good software, too. Before I write any code I want to know where your time goes, where things fall through, and what you're quietly working around.

Most of what I build is for practices and programs that look a lot like my own, so I've usually run the workflow myself first.

How I work

I work solo and use AI to write a good deal of the code. You deal with me from the first conversation to the last deployment. No account manager, no handover.

That also means things move quickly.
